This image is part of a series that I created where I wanted to reflect dark emotions of internal suffering without doing a dark photo. People often associate darkness with moodiness and I wanted to do the opposite and try to showcase mood and anguish without the use of a dark color palette and instead I chose to create a dark mood using a completely light color palette and set the mood only via the expression of my subject. I wanted to showcase anguish/sadness/pain via my subjects expression. Basically what you see on the outside doesn't always reflect how we feel on the inside.
