This was shot during the peak of the COVID19 pandemic in Bergamo (Italy). Bergamo has been under the spotlight has it was the first city badly hit by the virus. In the photo, a volunteer is standing in front of 60 coffins gathered in a decommissioned facility in Ponte San Pietro. It was used as a morgue to store coffins as all the funeral home in the province reached the maximum capacity.
Amongst the dead, there were not just friends, but family too.
