'Contrasts'
I feel there is power in an image that tells a story subjective to the viewer. This image in particular has always resonated with me as a truly powerful scene.
Upon first glance an immediate response might be curiosity as to what is going on in the subjects head.
When taking a step back, you will notice that there is a very clear distinction between Shadow behind the subject and Light in front of the subject.
This can be interpreted as a visual representation of a dark and troubled past, coupled with a bright future ahead, which has yet to be noticed.
Truth be told, this nice gentleman is in fact a gardener taking a break during a very hot day on the job.
Photography is a beautiful thing.
