Is the story here the volcano, the stream, the weather? Ultimately the story proved to be just as much behind the lens as it was unfolding before it. Nothing like a little mist and skylighted sun to add mood to a photo. I had been conducting fieldwork on the volcano in the background the previous six SUNNY days. Following that, inclement weather finally gave me a day off to do photography. So much mood and drama was captured that day driving below the clouds, above the clouds, waiting out rain and sleet, and I loved every second capturing this shot I had planned of a place that is very special to me.
