Taken about an hour after sunrise, I'd packed up my gear and started the hike home when the storm clouds rolled in and created this scene in the valley below. Good light can strike at any time--especially in Hawai'i, where, to paraphrase Mark Twain, if you don't like the weather now, just wait a few minutes. The weather on this hike is notoriously unpredictable, but luckily it held up long enough for us to make the 5-mile trek back to our car. This image is a 5 shot pano, shot handheld (I was too lazy to get the tripod back out!).
