Congratulations to the winners!
Shot of the Milky Way above the sleeping village of Oliena in Sardinia (Italy).
beautiful. I would suggest to add a bit space on the right next time and alos a bit more foreground.. also the white ballance is a bit off (a bit to warm). Otherwise well done. 3 stars
Thanks for the reply Fabian.
It is one of my first attempt to astrophotography and comments like your are gold!
I honestly struggled to understand the correct white balance as my Olympus tend to give a too warm reading when shooting in the dark. I'll keep that in mind for next time
your welcome. had the same problems at the beginnibg. if you are interrested to get some basic knowledge I recommend lonelyspeck.com . got around 80% of my knowledge from him.
I'll have a look! thanks
Have a look for a fellow by the name of Richard Tatti. He has some easy to follow tutorials on youtube that are very inspirational.
The white balance can be corrected in camera by selecting something around the 4000 to 4500k . The image is composed pretty well, has the mountains been lit up by the moon? if so it works well and if you get back there with a bit more experience it would be great to see the before and after shots.
yes it was, I will be able to come back some and try again! thanks!
