I had plans to take pictures of the horses on Assateague when I went camping for the first time but there was a massive dune in front of our campsite and when I saw a few birds fly over it with the water in the background I thought that could make an interesting shot too.
Nothing lined up the way it did before I had my camera in hand. My wife yelled birds! I was thinking they were flying over the dune but the were on it and one kept chirping on and on and on, dancing back and forth trying to get the attention of the other bird. Before I knew it, nature took its course, they consummated and flew away.
Behold the courtship dance (foreplay?) of the Laughing Gull.
