St Michael de Rupe, an iconic 12th century church on top of Brentor, also known as Brentor Church in Dartmoor, Devon, England. This church is still used to this day as a place of worship.

To take this image I wanted a sunset as the church faces west, and needed to walk a mile or so from the carpark and up the side of the tor (rocky hill) carrying a tripod and the camera. The image itself was simple enough to take, taken at ¼ second at f8 with the GFX50R and 32-64mm lens @ 32mm.

The image was processed in DXO PL Elite and is pretty much a straight raw conversion. I chose to crop this to a square format to exclude a lot of the surrounding rock, which wasn’t that interesting and allow the church to be the main point of focus for the image
