I went camping in eastern Oregon last May and saw some of the most dramatic storm clouds I've ever seen. The light was really flat and a little greenish for a few minutes right before it rained, making the desert seems almost color-graded in real life. I tried to replicate the feeling of how flat the light was in this image, really bringing down the contrast and then selectively adding it back in with masks in Lightroom.
