A November morning at Penmon Lighthouse on the island of Anglesey in North Wales. I’d hoped for a nice sunrise but instead was greeted with a typically dull, Welsh winter morning. I took care over the positioning of the lighthouse in the frame ensuring it was placed centrally between the island and the mainland. I opted for a longer exposure to make the waves look misty as I was aiming for a fine art type of image.
After cropping in processing in LR5 minor adjustments were made to exposure, contrast, blacks, clarity and the tone curve. Shadows and whites were both lifted. A radial filter was applied to the centre of the image to control exposure levels while boosting the highlights. Some localised exposure adjustments were made using the brush tool and a small amount of sharpening was applied along with noise reduction and a vignette.
