I visited the racetrack area in Death Valley and scouted for compositions during daylight. These two rocks were the only ones I found close together with a visible path. I planned the photo using Photopills and visited the area when there was no moon. For the foreground, I focus stacked 4 images for sharpness. For the milky way i took 10 exposures at a high ISO and then used starry landscape stacker to stack for noise reduction. For post-processing I used Lightroom for basic adjustments and then Photoshop for focus stacking and targeted adjustments. Taken on a Sony A7r3, 16-35gm f2.8 lens
