Over the roofs of Montepulciano
This shot of the picturesque Renaissance village Montepulciano in Tuscany (Italy) was a very lucky one indeed. The sky was completely covered with thick, grey clouds that evening and I nearly packed up and left. Luckily, I decided to wait just a bit longer when all of a sudden a small opening in the clouds appeared right above the horizon and the last sun rays illuminated the beautiful landscape with a golden light for a very fleeting moment.
I kept shooting until the lights came on in the village and did a time-blend of one of the sunset photos with a shot from early blue hour.
In addition, I did minor clean-up work, contrast enhancements and sharpening in Photoshop and brought down the highlights on the horizon using a slightly darker exposure I took during sunset.
Shot with Nikon Z7 with Nikon Z 24-70 f/4 S lens at ISO 64, f/8, 1s.
