A small park across from the famed La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona provides one of the best views of the basilica. I woke up bright and early to set up for sunrise at this spot, while closely guarding my gear since the area is notorious for pickpockets. One of the other photographers at this location informed me that his tripod had been stolen the day before.
This basilica has been under construction for over 100 years with a completion date of 2026. Unfortunately the cranes are unavoidable, but they provide a perspective of this building in its evolutionary state. I'll be sure to go back to the same location in a few years once the church has been completed for another capture.

Incredible capture, I gave it 4 stars, would have given 5 without cranes, really great capture.
I generally don't like cranes, but for some reason the cranes add a little something to this shot for me. Can't place it, but maybe even a steampunk type of feel.
I see what you are saying and also what David is saying, how it tells a story of the ongoing progress of the church. There is nothing wrong with either. I was speaking more to the 4 vs 5 stars. To me 5 stars for a landscape photo would be in its best form, free of distractions, defined subject. It's odd though, like you I enjoy story telling and for me a world class photo may not always be my personal preference or taste, I try to think bigger than me if that makes any sense...
Thank you both, Justin Bradley and Robert Tran. This basilica has been under construction for over 100 years with a completion date of 2026. Unfortunately the cranes are unavoidable, but they provide a perspective of this famous church in its evolutionary state. I'll be sure to go back to the same location in a few years once the church has been completed for another capture.
