This is an older shot of mine, taken back during summer of 2020 at Fort Mckavvet, Texas. Almost three hours north outside of San Antonio and not near any major cities, the skies here are extremely dark! Being three years old, there are a few things I wish I had done differently with this image, but it is still a favorite of mine even now. Should have left the light out of the house and gone for a clean exposure of the landscape using starlight only….well maybe I can make it back out there next year for round two!

Equipment used:
• Nikon D750
• Tamron 24-70 F/2.8
• iOptron Sky Guider
• Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop

Settings:

Sky Shot - 24mm, 300”, F4, ISO 500

Landscape Shot - 24mm, 60”, F/2.8, ISO 800

Sky Shot and Landscape were photographed from the same spot and blended together in photoshop. I did this to maximize sky detail and landscape detail without blurring either subject with earth movement.
