The location is on the neck of a small peninsula where the side away from the ocean is a shallow bay with a large shore bird population. The weather was unsettled with showers moving in from the west causing the background to be dark, but the location was still sunlit. Fairly typical weather in a Tasmanian Spring. Each time the tide receded a bit more these birds would take off and debate where to go next. They soon opted to move to the west end of the beach. Pentax K1 mkII with Tamron 70-200, hand-held; shot at 200mm, f5.6 1/2500 ISO 500; post-processing in LRC and Luminar Neo
