We're in the hills around Lake Hydro in the north of Italy. I had been staying with my then partner on a gorgeous, simple hut in the mountains. No electricity, no hot water. Lots of walking up and down, lots of eating, it was amazing.
On one of the walks, we met the popular lake surrounded by hills. The moody sky begged for a black and white. I took lots of visual notes, but settled for a panorama that evoked in me a sense of the majestic. I still look at it and I get filled with joy for having been there and shared such a wonderful time.
I stitched around 6 photos from my canon T3i apsc and 18-55 kit lens for the panorama and edited it into a black and white image with Nix Silver Efex to get a smooth sky. I then brought the sky brightness down to match the feel. I decided to leave the hills quite dark, as I loved the contrast between the solid of the hills and the fluid of the water and sky.
