Porto at sunset, taken on the Southern bank of the Douro river.
I was sat at one of the many local wineries just metres from this scene, enjoying some Porto wine while I waited for the sun to set. It was then just a matter of carefully composing the boats in the foreground so as to limit their overlap, while including a section of the Dom Luis bridge on the right, famously designed by a disciple of Gustave Eiffel.
I photographed this on my Fuji XT-3 with a shutter speed just slow enough to smooth the water and add the slightest bit of motion to the boats in the foreground. Basic Lightroom corrections applied for contrast and colour, with some blue and yellow split-toning and a 2x1 crop to focus the image.
