1.5 - "Needs Work"

Pusch Ridge Fog (Oro Valley AZ) NIKON COOLPIX S8200 Auto. This image was taken early morning on a foggy day. Post work included masking sky and part of the ridge to leave natural fog and then adjusting with color curves tool on ridge.

I cannot tell if this was done accidentally or on purpose. It looks like you showcase the noise data from the subject mask and remove the rest of the data entirely.

Hi Christian. Tx for your excellent comment/question. Yes it's done intentionally. I have other foothill scenes "whacked out" as I call them. Some of the scenery in a desert can become bland but I see the shapes/textures in the rocks and cacti terrain and just like to over colorize it for fun. As another Fstopper commented also on this pic to the effect that maybe this pic is more suitable for the abstract category. Yes I see his point as well. I didn't remove any data (that's way beyond my tech skills!), just masked off the bottom and adjusted the color curve levels option to get a color effect. The top sky portion and some of the ridge rock area in soft grey is what the entire original photo looked like on this unusually dense foggy morning in the Tucson area. So I just started to try to enhance the color/saturation and ended up going to extremes with the color curves tool. I appreciate you taking time to comment. Best, Debra

I guess this fits more an "abstract" category rather than "landscape and cityscape"

Hi Jean-francois. Yes, probably more suitable for an Abstract category. I see your point and had debated whether to post this one v other of my naturally rendered landscapes. Many thanks for taking time to comment. It's definitely a valid consideration as to what belongs in the category. Best, Debra

Wow, that’s impressine

Thanks so much for taking time to comment. Glad it was a moment for something visually appealing to you!!
