Windmills Wheat

This image was taken at the famous Kinderdijk, a small, delightful village surrounded by stunning historical windmills in the South Holland province. Fortunately, my first experience visiting the popular location was a complete success. The dull evening clouds opened up with a tremendous cloud breakage, and this gush of sunlight beamed across the reedy landscape. I quickly stationed my tripod across the main walking path, providing a clear and interesting composition of the Dutch windmills. I used my Tamron 70-300mm telephoto lens to compress the scenic landscape.

Camera settings (160 ISO, 70mm, F13, 1/125 sec)

I used Lightroom for basic tone adjustments, colour grading, and lens corrections. I also used Adobe Photoshop for further colour grading, exposure blending, orton effect and linear gradients.
