This photo captures an abandoned mine cabin on a steep mountain slope in remote wilderness between Death Valley National Park and the Sierra Nevada. Reaching the location involved a day of off-trail navigation and carefully planning water ressuply at a desert spring; fewer than 10 people per year travel this exact route. The light pollution of Las Vegas can be seen on the horizon.

The photo was captured on the Sigma 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art and Sigma fpL, using a single exposure at f/2, ISO 3200, and 13 sec.
