The sun was rising around 5:30 am while we were on our way to the trailhead to hike Half Dome, which you can see in the distance, almost hinting at the firefalls in the right side of the photo to come in the next few months. My favorite detail of the photo is on the tip top of the tree in the center of the frame, there's a bird that you have to really zoom in to see that I didn't notice until editing. It's just waiting there for you to see it and whistle.
