Architecture Photography

I took this shot of the MAAT Museum, designed by Amanda Levete, during a trip to Lisbon, Portugal last year. I was just visiting, so I was using my Sony A7iii with a Sigma 24-70mm handheld.
Besides its unique curved shape, one of the most interesting features of the building is that the roof functions as a viewing platform, which can be accessed from from the ground level with staircases on both sides. Bringing these elements together and telling the story of how the space is utilized by the public was the main goal of this shot.
I took this just before sunset with strong backlighting, so in post production I needed to bring back some information in the shadows in the stair region, but maintain them in the areas with the people to keep the silhouettes. In addition, as with all my images, I did a bit on color grading to convey the sunset atmosphere.
