On a sailing trip to small islands off the Whitsundays in Australia, I finally encountered my first Bluespotted ribbontail ray. It was hiding under a small ledge. I had a spotlight installed on my underwater housing and the light made its blue spots pop. Picture is taken while freediving at about 5-6m depth. In editing I have enhanced the effect of the spotlight by adding more vignette. As always photography is made a lot more difficult when you everything is done on one breath.
