I captured this image at Bugge's Beach in Ketchikan, Alaska, during an 18-month sabbatical that became a transformative period for my photography. This location was one of my favorite spots to shoot. What immediately drew me in was how the storm clouds framed the trees, with their reflection perfectly mirrored in the still water.
In editing, I used dodging and burning techniques, along with selective masking, to enhance the cloud formations framing the trees.
