I've photographed hundreds of funerals for families at Arlington National Cemetery.
The great majority have been for retirees after a full life and bye the time they're funeral is scheduled the initial shock of loss and grieving are starting to fade and it becomes a celebration of life.
However, there are those killed while serving and that frequently means young widows, sometimes toddlers and children. There grief is overwelming and as a photographer it's difficult and emotional.
This casket is for Marine Capt Jessica Conkling killed during night helicopter training mission due to hitting power line missing from navigation charts.
