This was a hero shot I made for one of my pocket knives. I started by propping the knife with a hidden shaft on a C stand and some magnets for a floating effect. The lava effect was created by cutting pieces of black foam core, and placing them on a clear acryilic base, and then I used a speedlight with a red gel lighting from under the acryilic to give the glowing lava effect. I added smoke with a mini smoke machine that was modified from a vape.
The flame and ember are not real and were overlaid in post. And then I warmed up the tone.
