Moonrise over Black Mesa, San Idelfonso Pueblo, Northern New Mexico. The image was taken with a Sony a7r3 + Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM ART @ 1/20th sec., ISO 200, F/5.6. Image was processed in Silver Efex Pro / Coffee Toner and the moon was masked in LR and contrast controlled to bring out its features. The photo app - PhotoPills, was useful in determining the date, time and exact location to set up for this image. It was taken at Blue Hour; the sun had set app. 15 minutes prior to the moonrise over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This is an image I had considered for several years and thoughtful planning over the course of the summer helped achieve it. Other than converting the color to BW/toning and masking there was little other processing. The bright crosses are a product of pure white paint and a soft contrasty New Mexico sunset at our backs.
