This is just a photo from a snow day we had recently. It’s just a shot of my truck on a dead end road. I know it’s not the artsy style photo that is normally seen on these contests, but I think it turned out pretty nice. I didn’t have a spotter, so getting it lined up was kind of difficult.

Shot on my Sony A7R5 with a Sigma 70-200 F2.8 DG DN at 200mm, 1/2000 sec, and ISO 100. Edited with Lightroom Mobile on my iPad because I didn’t think that I would ever try to put it in a contest.

I agree that this is a 2 star photo for most people looking at it. I love it, but agree that there is no right or wrong in art and my style is not everyone’s favorite. If you are rating it, can you please give me some feedback? This is the first time uploading a photo to a “contest” and I’ve been doing photography for just under 2 years.

part of the issue is the angle and the crop. If your going to photograph a car in the snow like you see (or used to see) in the magazines... This angle makes it look like its going to hit you straight on. Like an accident is going to happen. But there's no one in the car, so it wouldn't fit into the 'Drama-Category' either. So you can tell it's probably not moving either. It's also dark and hard to see only part of the car. Of course, as I always say, the picture may look much better in higher resolution, off of FStoppers. You have to take into account that factor too, that fstoppers dumbs the quality way down, and only certain pictures stand out as well on this site compared to how they might look on another place that your able to see in higher res... or printed. What I have found is this site is very brutal, very brutal in ratings. That is good and bad... You do learn from it. I have learned from it. You learn to get better. I feel like we need it, as photographers. Though sometimes, you feel like that you can't figure out what people will like, and that is understandable.

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate feedback from people that aren’t friends/family. I’m still learning and strive to do better each time I go out. This was a series of shots and different angles, some in a parking lot next to this street, but I liked this shot the best. It’s just my old 30 year old truck, but I thought that with the “dually” fenders sticking out of the side, it looked kind of mean. Thanks again for the feedback!
