I shot this image while in Hokkaido, Japan, while out backcountry skiing on a foggy morning. After wrapping up with some pow skiing laps, the low-level clouds kept rushing in and out of the valley, exposing this beautiful tree sitting all by itself. I sat around on this high perch on the hillside for a bit, waiting for a large enough break to expose just the tree properly. I lucked out with a long enough lull in the clouds for the sun to poke through for me to capture the tree and its shadow alone on the mountain.
