Taken on the way back down from an snowshoe hike in late December. As is pretty normal, the wind at my back out of the west was just howling over the continental divide. I stopped to make a photograph on this frozen lake as the patterns of the rocks exposed above the surface of the ice and the blowing snow over them caught my eye. This was shot hand held at 24mm as my tripod would not even stand up in the wind, and has minimal post processing.
