In Northwest Montana, the Bull River Valley is home to the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness. Here, Big and Little Ibex Peaks and Snowshoe Peak are reflected in a pond that is part of the Bull River.
The sunrise on New Years Eve in 2021 lit ice crystals in the air from the very cold temperature. The only challenge involved in taking this was getting up early, dressing warm, and driving two hours to this location. The spot I was standing in, is on the shoulder of Montana Highway 56, so no hiking was involved.
