In the past decade, winters in the capital of Slovakia (Bratislava) have often been snowless, but morning fog is not uncommon. On this December day, I was on my way to “duties” before sunrise, so the streets were bathed in the light of street lamps.
The photo captures flagpoles illuminated by the yellowish glow of sodium vapor lamps. The industrial feel of the poles disappearing into the fog (as part of a building in the spirit of socialist brutalist architecture) gives the scene a sort of sci-fi vibe...
