A few days before my birthday, in June, while staying on a guest farm some heavy rain passed over the area for a few hours. The sky was a dull grey, it was cold and damp with no sunshine at all. Looking out the window i noticed this hornbill sitting on a branch of a bush just above the waterline of the dam. The bird looked as miserable as i was feeling with the cold dull weather. The scene presented a rather nice image of the bird and the green foliage on the branches. I slipped out of the cottage back door keeping a low profile along the stone wall to get into a position where i could photograph the bird. The result was a delightful image of this hornbill in the rain. Edited in LRC.Cropped image.
