This is a shot of Mike Ross, one of Australia's best Freestyle Mountain Bikers. Its taken at his training compound in Canberra. I had noticed the morning before the early mist and hoped we had a repeat. I persuaded him to get up at 5.30am to try and catch these conditions. This was his fourth jump on a completely new ramp with a relatively new trick for him - what a rock star. It was shot at 1/5000 at f5.6 at 15mm. It was lit with two Elinchrom 1200s at full power (because he's probably 25 feet from the lights) and i was standing on top of the landing ramp. A dead hard picture to pull off because you only had one shot and Mike was only in this position for a fraction of a section (in fact when shooting without flash i couldn't catch it at 20fps).
