This was taken at the National Motorbike Complex at Broadford in Australia, at a dirt track race. The outside of the track has a big black rubber wall to protect the crowd and the riders that makes a great backdrop. I lit this with a single 400W Elinchrom flash with a rice bowl on the outside of the track to the front left of the rider. It put a bit of light into the rider but more importantly lit up all the dust behind the rider. I wanted to do something different with the framing and it took me 30 shots to get this. 1/1000, f3.5 at 200mm.
