To capture the architectural grandeur of the wedding venue just before midnight, I positioned the couple on the upper floor behind the glass facade, placing a single speedlight approximately 1.5 meters behind them. I shot from the exterior using a Canon R6 Mark II and RF 28-70mm F2 L USM lens at ISO 400, f/2.8, and 1/160s, specifically choosing these settings to kill the ambient light and isolate the building. The lighting strategy relied on high flash output to fill the wooden interior and, crucially, to reflect off the inner surface of the front window, providing necessary fill light on the couple's faces while maintaining their separation from the background.

Post-production required a composite workflow because capturing the faint starlight and the instant flash exposure simultaneously was impossible due to dynamic range limitations. I merged the primary flash-lit image with a separate long-exposure frame of the sky taken on a tripod from the exact same position. After blending the layers, I focused on harmonizing the color temperatures, correcting skin tones to remove color casts from the wooden interior, and applying a subtle retouch to ensure a realistic transition between the sharp architectural lines and the soft, starry background.
