This is shot in a jewelry manufacturing plant. I used a macro lens to get a shot of a pearl being drilled. Used a vivtar 283 with a manual power adapter. I was able to power the flash down all the way this gave me an extremely short flash duration by turning the lights off in the room this turned my flash into my shutter. The camera only synced at 1/60 and high speed sync was not a thing yet. I was able to freeze the drill bit and the tiny bits of dust. The flash was from behind to light up the dust while keeping the background dark so you can see the dust. Also used a fill card to bounce light into the front of the pearl.
