10 Common Questions About Using Vintage Lenses

Vintage lenses have exploded in popularity in the last few years, offering photographers much more affordable options and unique looks that are not seen in more modern lenses. However, with so many options out there, it can be a bit hard to know where to look, what to buy, and how much to spend. This excellent video answers 10 common questions about using vintage lenses to get you on the right track.

Coming to you from Mark Holtze, this great video will answer 10 questions you likely have about using vintage lenses. Part of the reason vintage lenses have seen such a resurgence in recent years is because of the proliferation of mirrorless cameras. Since most such lenses use manual focus only, it can be tricky to work with them on DSLRs, particularly those with viewfinders that were not designed for such work. However, most modern mirrorless cameras contain several manual focus aids that make this much easier, such as focus peaking and automatic zooming when focusing. If you own a mirrorless camera and have not tried out an older lens yet, consider grabbing one! It can be a lot of fun, and it is often much more affordable than newer lenses. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Holtze.
