Ready for some real talk about Fujifilm cameras? One photographer tried every single Fuji APS-C sensor and gives his no-nonsense rundown on which Fujifilm camera pumps out the best monochrome photographs.
If you know me at all, and likely many of you here know me far too well, you'll be aware of my deeply psychotic devotion for the Fujifilm X-Pro1 with its beautiful first-generation X-Trans I sensor. You can get a taste of my unholy love for that camera in this ancient Fstoppers article on why I'll die on Fujifilm Hill.
So, as I stared longingly at my X-Pro1 in the wee hours of the morning, it came as no surprise when YouTube recommended photographer Marc Anthony's breakdown on which Fujifilm camera produces the best out-of-camera black and white photographs in 2026.
Marc is a photographer after my own heart, and his bluntly petitioned reasoning on why (and what) he feels makes the best monochrome photograph from Fuji cameras might surprise you.
And that's exactly why his thoughts resonated so strongly with me. Marc gives no specialized gear lists or complicated in-camera recipes in order to produce solid, workable black and white photographs with a Fujifilm camera. Instead, he offers grounded opinions based on his extensive real-world shooting experience with a plethora of Fuji camera bodies.
I'll admit I'm a little jealous.
After watching the video, meet me in the comment section below to share your thoughts on what makes the best black and white photograph from a Fujifilm camera. Do you agree with Marc and his conclusions? If you're a Fujifilm shooter, what's your go-to black and white setup?
