Since its launch in early 2012, Fujifilm has received customer feedback regarding the X-Pro1's performance. Fujifilm has listened carefully to these comments. By installing the new firmware, consumers will see a significant improvement in Auto Focus speed, manual focus and processing/writing speeds. Read on to learn about the updates included and link where to find it when it comes available on September 18, 2012.
Improved performance of auto focus*1
Focusing in challenging lighting conditions has been significantly improved with this update. The minimum focus distance has been shortened, allowing you to get even closer to the subject without having to switch to macro mode.
Improvements in Manual Focus
Manual focusing has been improved to allow for quicker adjustments. When adjusting the focus ring, using either the electronic viewfinder or the LCD panel on the back of the camera, it is now much easier to determine focus, as the screen displays the image closer to full aperture with minimum depth of field.
The focus check feature on the X-Pro1 has been updated with a new 3x magnification option, in addition to the original 10x magnification, making it easier to find the optimum focus point.
Improved Writing and Processing Speed
At maximum speed, the X-Pro1 can now write to the memory card twice as fast as before.*2 Image playback has also been improved and now occurs less than a second after pressing the playback button.
Other Additional Functions
This update also includes the addition of Auto (6400) as a new option within the ISO settings menu.
*1: The effect will differ according to the attached lens. *2: The effect will differ according to the card type and image file size.
