British Catalog Accidentally Leaks the DJI Mavic 2: Two Different Drones With Big Upgrades

An eagle-eyed reader found quite the find: the upcoming DJI Mavic 2 in the latest Argos catalog. It turns out the new drone is coming in two versions, and both represent major upgrades to the popular model.

DroneDJ is reporting that it appears the Mavic 2 will be released in two versions: the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Zoom. The Mavic 2 Pro will come with a one-inch sensor housed in a Hasselblad camera. This should give a noticeable leap in image quality. I know that when I upgraded from the Phantom 4 to the Phantom 4 Pro with its one-inch sensor, the jump in image quality took my drone from fun creative toy to serious photographic tool. The other model, the Mavic 2 Zoom, will come with a 24-48mm equivalent lens. Other upgrades include a faster top speed of 45 m.p.h., increased battery life of 31 minutes, omnidirectional obstacle detection, and a dolly zoom effect in the Zoom model.

While the release date isn't yet clear, one thing is for sure: both models are going to be a lot of fun when they arrive.

If the zoom version uses Sony's 1/1.7" sensor, the image improvement will also be notable from the original Mavic Pro. The OsitaLV leaks did manage to mention 1" AND 1/1.7" sensors.

It'll be frustrating if you have to purchase two aircrafts to get both gimbals. Hopefully an interchangeable gimbal system?

Why would a not even announced product be in print marketing?

The Argos print run is huge, I reckon they had the details early and when the mavic pro 2 got delayed it had already been printed.

Not that I want this not to be true but my question would be why would they print this In the volume required to only have to reprint it to include the item number and price?

I was in an Argos store yesterday here in the Uk. Its still there for all to see in the catalogue. Argos have always done this with upcoming products - they simply put a sticker of the price (when its released) over the item in every catalogue in the store , honestly, Its not shown in their online store though.

This is what DJI wanted to announced on the 18th of July but cancel it. So this article may not be accurate at all.
It's not the same than a pre announcement. TI's more the opposite... Here is what we will not do...

Why bother...the locations where you can operate legally are fast shrinking. That means for the majority of people who are not applying for permits etc. are seeing their machines sit on the shelf more than in the air.

Isn't this what Tony Northrop just said in a video the other week?

Is the Zoom the same camera/sensor with a zoom lens on it?
