Lenovo Demos a Bendable, Wearable Smartphone

Bendable smartphones have been teased in the past, but this may be the first time we've seen a fully functional prototype that morphs with such ease and to such an impressive degree. It's an intriguing glimpse into a future full of possibilities.

At Lenovo Tech World 2016 in San Francisco, the company teased the flexible CPlus phone and Folio tablet, showing a working prototype of the CPlus that bends so well that it can be worn like a watch. I've wanted to buy an Apple Watch for quite some time; nay, I've wanted to want to buy one. The potential to interface with my camera and Triggertrap is enticing, especially because I do so much remote shooting, and my watch is always on me, but I just can't justify the limited functionality and tiny screen.

The only other device I always have on me is my cell phone, but it's awkward to try to keep it in one hand while I'm shooting with my primary camera. On the other hand, if I could instantly snap my phone around my wrist; well, that could be a game changer. If you watch the video carefully, you'll notice that the interface changes when the phone is snapped around the wrist, meaning Lenovo has put some good thought into this. If I could pull my phone out of my pocket, snap it on my wrist, and have it automatically pull up a live view feed and remote shooting functions, I'd be one happy photographer.

What other useful functions would you love to see in such a phone?

yes, this looks interesting indeed. it looks ergonomically awful to wear though but surely there are better applications.

I'd like to see how well it actually stays on your wrist. It looked to me like he had to keep his arm in that position so it wouldn't fall off.

No I think that he needed to keep his arm there so that everyone could get photos of it.
