Edelkrone has a knack for creating technology that captures the imagination in ways that other brands don’t. With the release of the original Edelkrone SliderONE, we saw that ingenuity manifest itself in what looks like the future of video camera support. That same ingenuity has guided the development of the new SliderONE PRO.
The Edelkrone SliderONE PRO may not be a huge, groundbreaking change from the SliderONE but the engineers at Edelkrone have made some pointed, important adjustments to performance and form factor that will be incredibly valuable for most shooters.
The SliderONE PRO provides 5 centimeters of extra length, which is helpful (or at the very least headed in the right direction) and has greater ability to handle more extreme inclines. I think I can speak for most of us in vocalizing the desire for a much more substantial version of the SliderONE PRO, but that shouldn’t blind us to what we have right now. That is, a slider with absurdly precise controls that’s just as absurdly portable.
Speaking of those two things in particular, not only is the SliderONE PRO lighter and thinner than before, it sports an internal motor. This makes it easier and quicker to set up and the motor itself is actually faster than the previous SliderONE.
Above all, the SliderONE PRO comes with improved app performance and two new functions called the Time-Warper and Motion-Warper. Check out this video below that Edelkrone released to explain the features.
This feature, along with an improved ability to control speed and direction in real time on the app, show that the already substantial system implemented with the SliderONE is only going to get better. Is there anything that you wish was included that wasn't? I would like the ability to save specific camera moves so that I could accomplish the exact same action, at the exact same speed across multiple shoots or locations. Something like that could be possible with an update, but just having that possibility in such a small form factor gives me a lot of hope for what Edelkrone does next.
The SliderONE PLUS is available for purchase from the Edelkrone website for $589. Pro tip: buy the Flextilt Head to go along with it and you’ll have a killer combo.
10 cm longer with a auto pan version... killer!
