finally they bring 1080i50/i60

Sorry, but where you got this info? it's 30p only as mentioned above

Fuck i.

I'm (was) planning to buy the Nikon d5100. So I was exited when I saw this post. Oke, there wasn't change much but it's still cool to buy the new one, right? BAM! twice as expensive as the d5100... So I will buy the d5100 with a discount (probably shops want to get rid of it with a discount). Disappointing in the price Nikon...

??? The D5100 is $850 and as far as I know the 5200 will be around $1150. How is that "twice as expensive"? The D7000 costs $1200 for the record, and in some thigns the 5200 is weaker than teh 7000 but I think it still compensates well in other areas. AT least, as far as I can see as of yet.

Weird, I'm from the Netherlands and everything is expensive in Europe.
Eg: 700$ Iphone = 700 euro Iphone (1000 dollar).
And it's with all big brands. It's weird that you guys pay 850$ for the d5100, because I only pay 420 euro's (about 500$). Which means the new 1100$ d5200 would be around 800 euro's. Twice as expensive... 420 and 800 (d5100 420 euro: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/280554/nikon-d5100-zwart.html )

There's no way Nikon will price the 5200 in direct competition with the D7000. The D7k is currently at $1199 for body only. The D5100 is $800 with a kitlens. A 50% price increase is unimaginable. I would be more inclined to believe the 5200 to be $50-100 more than the 5100. If not directly the same price to retail at about $850-900US. US retailers are already marking down the 5100 to under $600 with the kit lens. You can't quote the UK/EU pricing and do a conversion to US pricing. UK/EU pricing includes VAT which would price them higher than US market.

Actually the 5100 will remain in production.  They are discontinuing it yet.  I think the giant sensor size is what making the 5200 so expensive.  It will drop in price in a few months, though.  At least in the mean time the 5100 is available and still a pretty good camera.

Larger sensor size? Huh?? It's still there cropped 1.5 sensor.

Sorry I meant the increase in pixels.

So far so good! I was dreaming about the D5100, and the 5200 seems to address some of the issues where I wishes the D5100 was a bit better. So so far I love it!

hope there are full manuel controls in lv video!!!

Yes ! Nothing will be really interesting without it.

The Nikon D5200 Take your vision to video High-quality Full HD

The D5200 includes Nikon's latest innovations for creating beautiful videos
with virtually no choppiness. D-Movie mode now features Full HD 1080p
60i for visibly smoother sequences, a first for Nikon HD-SLR.
Full-time-servo AF (AF-F) and subject-tracking AF work together to keep
moving subjects sharp and in focus, and face-priority AF instantly
detects and tracks up to 35 faces in a scene. D5200 also has a built-in
stereo microphone that can be controlled automatically or manually via
20 incremental steps, another first for Nikon HD-SLRs. Whether you shoot
short clips or cinema-style movies, the D5200 makes it easy to take
your projects to the next level.

The 3-inch rear LCD is mounted
on a hinge. The vari-angle design rotates so it can be viewed from
above, below, from the rear, or from the front, at any angle. It can
also fold flat against the body facing inward our outward—the former is
great for those times when you want to use the viewfinder exclusively
without reviewing images. The screen is sharp at 921k dots, which lets
you review images for critical focus and manually focus in Live View
with precision.
