Panasonic’s First Ultra-Telephoto LUMIX S Lens Covers 100-500mm

Panasonic has introduced the LUMIX S 100-500mm f/5-7.1 O.I.S., the first ultra-telephoto zoom lens in the LUMIX S Series. Designed for the L-Mount system, the lens extends the lineup’s reach to 500mm and supports optional teleconverters for focal lengths up to 1,000mm.

The lens combines long-reach capability with a relatively compact size at 196.1 mm in length. It features Panasonic’s Dual Phase Linear Motor for fast and silent autofocus, while Dual I.S. 2 image stabilization provides up to 7 stops of correction when paired with compatible bodies.

For video shooters, the lens includes focus breathing suppression and micro-step aperture control for smooth exposure transitions. It also incorporates customizable controls, such as a focus ring that can be reassigned to adjust aperture or other parameters, and a focus button for quick access to preferred functions.
