The fast 50mm lens is a staple optic for a wide variety of photographers and videographers, with a useful, neutral focal length and wide maximum aperture, making it great for anything from portraits to events work. This great video review takes a look at the Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S lens for the Z mount and what you can expect from it in practice.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost Photography, this great video review takes a look at the Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S lens. The 50mm f/1.8 is one of the most versatile lenses any photographer can own and can handle a variety of situations well. Nikon Z mount version features two aspherical elements for reduced distortion and increased sharpness, two extra-low dispersion elements for reduced chromatic aberrations and increased clarity, Nano Crystal Coating and Super Integrated Coatin for reduced flares and ghosting and improved contrast, stepping motor with full-time manual focus override, programmable control ring, rounded nine-bladed diaphragm for smoother bokeh, and dust- and moisture-resistant design. Altogether, for Nikon mirrorless users, the 50mm f/1.8 S lens looks to be a versatile option with good image quality that should be a great option for lots of shooters. Check out the video above for Frost's full thoughts.
