Samsung’s new flagship model, the NX1, will be available in stores on Monday, November 24, just in time for the holidays. Announced at Photokina in September, the NX1 boasts a 28 megapixel BSI (backside illumination) APS-C sensor with 205 phase detection autofocus points capable of firing 15 frames per second. In addition to employing Samsung’s newest auto-focus system, the NX AF System III, video fans will rejoice at the ability to shoot 4k footage directly to a memory card thanks to Samsung employing the next generation HVEC codec, H265, which is capable of storing 4k video at almost half the size of it’s predecessor H264. And, of course, Samsung’s SMART technology allows you to share videos and images via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The NX1 will be available body only for $1499 USD, or bundled with the 16-50mm f/2-2.8 S ED OIS Lens, Vertical Grip, Extra Battery & External Charger for $2799 USD.
Also available will be a new lens from Samsung’s premium ’S’ series lens line, the 50-150mm/f2.8 S ED OIS, for $1599 USD.

This makes no sense, but it's $200 cheaper if you buy the body and kit lens separately.
I don't know what samsung is thinking. Do they really want to catch the attention of professionals? Though they offer faster lenses now, they are not enough for the needs of creative ones.
I don't know about that. Give me a Nikon FTN with a roll of Fuji Velvia and I can be quite creative. I think I could do pretty well with the Samsung too. ;-)
Samsung's foray into more serious hardware is very interesting. These guys have all the resources to give Nikon, Canon, and Sony a run for their money, and that 28 meg APS-C sensor and lens is quite a shot across the bow. I think it's only a matter of time before they release a full frame sensor, then the fun will REALLY begin, won't it?
