See Nikon D850 Autofocus Features in These Hands-On Videos

Sporting the D5's 153-point autofocus system and metering sensor allows the D850 to take full advantage of the sensor inside it to produce stunning results. However, Nikon also added a number of new software-based features to really take advantage of this system. Below you can watch a series of videos that show these various features, from Focus Stacking and Focus Peaking to focusing at -4 EV. Also, get a peak through the viewfinder to see the electronic vibration reduction, and more.

In addition to these features, this series of videos made by Alex Ortega and posted by NikonRumors also includes a look at the quiet and silent shooting modes in the D850, the latter of which uses only the electronic shutter and is truly silent.

Most of these features seem impressive and hopeful, but it does disappoint me that the electronic vibration reduction, even with a lot of leeway (given that it's shooting in just 1080p), still produces a noticeable wiggle from the subject. Also, it's unfortunate that the one 4K video sample was uploaded at 1440p and not full 4K. As for the rest, however, it's looking pretty good to me! What do you thinking?

It is really a nice camera and that silent shutter is really silent. For wedding photographers thinking about Sony cameras and their silent shutters, this might be a choice. I will look forward for more tests when more people will start to play with it.

Lol testing a €3799,- camera on bootleg Mio. Could've picked a more interesting subject, but awesome camera nonetheless! Excited to see more.
