After about four months on the market, how is the second generation Surface Book looking compared to the increasing competition in both the laptop and tablet-hybrid market? Does its increased power and battery life justify the high price tag?
Here's another in-depth review from the team over at Linus Tech Tips, this time taking a look at the Surface Book 2 released late last year. The video covers what's new in this second-generation device and how it compares to a wide variety of options now on the market, while also discussing just who benefits from its unique features. As a Surface Pro owner, I agree with quite a bit of what Linus has to say. The Surface Book 2's unique features, powerful hardware, and super-hi-res display make it a sure winner in my opinion over other laptops, including the new Mac Book Pro. However, if you're in the market for a laptop to replace your desktop and you do a lot of at-home heavy editing or video work, then although it is very capable, it probably isn't the right device for you. If on the other hand, you are looking for an all-in-one travel or on-location device that can be your edit station with a built-in stylus tablet, entertainment center, and secondary home computer, the Surface Book 2 is one of the most flexible devices around.
Do you have one of the new Microsoft Surface products? How do you like it?
I just bought one last week, and have been using it extensively since. I really like it! I don't know how I feel about the price tag, and the maximum of 16GB RAM, but otherwise I have no complaints so far.
