Recently got the Sony a7III & wanted to hear people’s thoughts on the camera regarding Astrophotography. Personally I’m really happy with the results so far versus my old camera (Nikon d750) seems really clean with iso & dynamic range is good, don’t really have a comment on the star eater thing as to me the sky looks full of stars. Paring it with the Zeiss Batis 18mm 2.8 which is awesome, the oled distance scale is so useful at night.
Makes sense that it is a great night camera. The pixel pitch is large, hence; great for night. It's the same reason the Canon 6D, Nikon D750, and D610 are also great at night. Then there is the original A7S. The 12MP FF night beast. The pixel pitch is ridiculous on that.
Basically, any modern FF camera with less than a 30MP sensor will inherently be great in low light photography.
finally a great answer on FF cameras for AP instead of the usual fanboy insert x brand is teh best.
